While sugary snacks may offer temporary sweet enjoyment, eating them on the regular could exacerbate inflammation in the body, resulting in symptoms such as low energy, troubled sleep, brain fog and irritability.

By swapping out some of those refined carbohydrate treats for something more nutritious, you can reduce systemic inflammation and get back to feeling more like yourself again.

It’s time to welcome my DEFLAME Chocolate Almond Bites into your life! These little treats are sweet, chocolatey, totally moreish and best of all – they're full of goodness.Cocoa powder nourishes heightened nervous and immune systems with much needed magnesium, zinc and selenium, while almonds are a fab source of vitamin E-a natural inflammatory antioxidant.

Finally, medjool dates provide fibre and natural sweetness which complements the zesty orange beautifully. My advice? Don’t skip the salt–just a touch really intensIfies the flavours in the cocoa and highlights the sweetness in these gorgeous bites.

Ingredients:

6 medjool dates

120g almonds

1 tbsp oats

1 tsp almond butter

Zest and juice of 1 orange

1 tbsp DEFLAME

2 tsp cocoa powder

Pinch of salt

Method:

1. Pulse the almonds in a food processor until they are similar in size to the oats.

2. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse until everything is combined.

3. Roll the mixture into small balls and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

These delightful little bites of joy will last up to 5 days in the fridge... though I challenge you to keep away from them for that long!
