This is bad for absorption because these large clumps are far too large to pass through the gut lining. So we need to do two things here: first we need to make curcumin water soluble (it is only soluble in fat), and second we need to make it really small. How small? Small enough to pass between the tiny spaces between the lipid layer in the gut lining i.e. small enough to be permeable. We are talking 10 to 20 nanometers in diameter.
